Is the World Suffering from Disappearing Brainpower Syndrome?

Despite technical advances like supercomputers and the internet, there have been very few big scientific breakthroughs in recent years. Most new scientific advances are based on old knowledge?not completely new thinking.
What?s going on? Are there no geniuses anymore? No new Einsteins or Darwins out there? Has everything in science been explained already? Hardly. But there has been a dramatic shift in how scientists practice modern day science. (http://www.foxnews.com/science/2013/02/03/is-scientific-genius-extinct/).  Even though almost all information is at our fingertips, it seems that much of it can?t be explained properly. In other words, there are plenty of facts, but no conclusions.
Does that mean our geniuses are no longer so smart? And if that?s the case, why is it happening? And what?s happening to the brainpower of ordinary people?
Are we all getting dumber?
Perhaps our collective brainpower is down. Maybe it?s even like men?s sperm counts that drop; it?s called disappearing male syndrome.  So is there Disappearing Brainpower syndrome also?  If so, what might be causing it?
Food for thought
Recently, an elderly patient was brought to me by her son, who had noticed signs of dementia.  A short course of vitamins and other nutrients resulted in fast improvement. Why? Because elderly people usually do not get enough proper food.  Give them what they need and they get better.
Could the same concept be applied to young and middle-aged people also?  Could it be that deficiencies in our food can cause the extinction of human genius?  Vitamins are not the only problem.  As we know, the brain mostly consists of fat.  Do we get enough omega 3 fatty acids with our food? Or could it be an inflammation in our gut caused by gluten?  In Russia we used to say that all big discoveries were made on empty stomach.  Could it be true?
HOW TO BOOST YOUR BRAINPOWER
Get enough vitamins and nutrients, especially B vitamins and omega 3 fatty acids from natural courses.
Stick with Paleolithic diet, provided that your digestive system is healthy.
Get enough sleep to make sure that your brain has enough neurotransmitters to function.  Get to bed at least before 10 PM to fit into your circadian rhythm.
Balance your hormones. Without balanced hormones, your brain can?t function properly.
Check your body for toxins, get rid of them if necessary.
Avoid unnecessary stress by getting rid of everything that is not necessary.
Have enough rest.  Remember that humans are designed to work 2 to 3 hours a day, not more.
Do not make any health decisions without consulting with your doctor.
Have fun!
Good luck!
